How Outsourcing Can Save You Time During Your Next Sale

I don’t know about you guys, but I can’t believe it’s the start of June! My brain is still in, ‘the year has just started’ mindset and is completely abuzz with what I want to achieve in 2019.

So much so, in fact, that I had to start a paper list for fear of forgetting half of it!

As I look at my list and start to get overwhelmed, I like to remind myself that we don’t have to do everything ourselves – we have to value our time.

Ok, more on that later.

For now, here’s what’s running through my brain so far for 2019:

  • Start our home renovation in second half of the year (yikes)
  • Launch a new sideline to Chez B Property Styling (more info on that later!)
  • Survive my last Year 12 ever as child number 3 goes through. So far so good! (just…breathe)
  • Go to India on a buying trip. I’ve been and just got back!  (best garlic naan I’ve ever eaten!)
  • Practice REGULAR Yoga (not the once in a while type)
  • Implement a new process that will BLOW our clients away. Big tick here! (did we just hear a sigh of relief?)
  • Lots of tiny achievements which I think we’re all chasing (am I right?) – lose weight, exercise daily, remember friends and family birthdays – not just FB messages! – and oh, did I mention YOGA?

Now that my list is out there for the world to see, I know that my biggest focus over the next few months is right there at number one – our home renovation.

We’ve been talking about this baby for the past 3 years, and we’ve finally hit GO.

That means a whole lot of conversations; with architects, council applications, engineer reports, builders, quotes. Before we got started, I really thought that I could take on more myself. I’m capable enough, it will save on money, it seems silly to outsource what I can do myself, doesn’t it? “I can totally plaster walls, right?”. “Oh yeah, I definitely have time to hang on the phone for four hours to get that council approval”.

But, in truth? Having experts in each field is worth its weight in gold, especially with an architect that brings the whole picture together. Why? Because we all have lives to live, and no matter what we’d like to think of ourselves, we’re not superheroes. No one can do everything, and no one should have to!

The lesson?

The realisation over the past several years that outsourcing what you’re not good at allows you to focus on what you are good at – whether that’s your family, your career, or investing time in yourself. For me, that time has come with our renovation. For Chez B clients, it comes right around the time they sell their home. You know, when you have a small village (I’m a Mum – I get it!) to move, repairs to be done, and all the while the need to keep your house spotless and inviting for potential buyers?

So, remember, whether it be home staging, plumbing, or even cleaning. You don’t have to do it alone.

That way, when your sale does come around, you have less stress, more time, and money saved – all because you knew that the best way to achieve your plans for the year ahead was to value your time and outsource to the experts.

If selling your home is one of the daunting tasks on your list for 2019 – we’d love to put our hand up and help with a free 15 minute consultation to help guide you through what your home needs to get ready to hit the market.

No catches. No commitments. Just some peace of mind when sale time rolls around.

Sound like we could make your year a whole lot easier?
